27 Days Volunteer Homestay & Lamu Island.

Pick up from the airport and overnight in Nairobi.

Day 1: Nairobi-Placement.
Briefing and transfer to wagusu by public bus arriving late in the evening at the resource center.

Day 2: Wagusu Community Work
After breakfast, guided orientation in the center and villages. Introduction to the people in the community and general information with the local eco-system, rural community structure and customs all meals and night at the resource center.

Day 3: -15= Wagusu Community Work
Day 3 is the exodus of community service and continues through to day 15 , depending on your area of specialization, you’ll have the opportunity, to deliver your services to the best of your ability in the following areas: H.B.C, B.C.C, Teaching, Environmental Conservation, Children program (orphans & the vulnerable), girl child program and farming. ( please advise ) -this is aimed at ensuring that the community benefits through our community service projects.
-it also provides genuine cross-cultural interaction between participants and the locals.
Note: Those programs will be tailored according to your special interest and capability, all meals and night at the resource center.

Day 16: Wagusu Community farewell party:
-Volunteers and members of the community get together and celebrate for having successfully worked together and pass a vote of thanks, all meals and night at the resource center.

Day 17: Wagusu-Nakuru.
Transfer from wagusu to Nakuru and check in at Chester Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 18: Lake Nakuru.
After breakfast we proceed to Lake Nakuru National park one of the shallow soda lake within the rift valley system that has been described as “an ornithologists paradise and one of the world’s most magnificent sights”. It’s known for millions of flamingoes, it’s a rhino sanctuary and also has other plain game. Dinner and overnight in Nakuru.

Day 19 : Lake Nakuru-Masaai Mara
After breakfast we head further south to Narok town for lunch then proceed to masaai Mara Game Reserve arriving in the afternoon for game drive in this wonderfull game reserve. Dinner and night at the campsite.

Day 20: Maasai Mara:
Spend the whole day viewing the animals in this tree studded grassland and rolling hills. This park is also known for the big five including lions, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, and either cheater or leopards. Meals and overnight at the campsite.

Day 21:Masaai Mara-Nairobi
Pre-breakfast game-drive. After late breakfast, leave Maasai Mara for Nairobi, lunch en-route arriving late afternoon, for an overnight in Nairobi Youth Hostel.

Day 22: Flight from Wilson Airport to Lamu at 1315hrs arriving 1445hrs
Day 23: New Lamu palace hotel accommodation on B/B
Day 24: New Lamu palace hotel accommodation on B/B
Day 25: New Lamu palace hotel accommodation on B/B
Day 26: New Lamu palace hotel accommodation on B/B
Day 27: New Lamu palace hotel-Nairobi.

PROGRAM COST USD 1780 PER PERSON.

Requirements:
* Must be 18 yrs and over
* Child below 18 yrs must be accompanied.
* No special experts or skills required except in teaching, health, marketing and office management
* Have a positive attitude and be flexible to adjust to the living conditions at the community.
* English speaking
