Tailoring This program was started to promote girls who cannot afford to continue their education due to lack of school fees mainly orphans and vulnerable girls, widows and single mothers to receive training in sewing and tailoring and to become self reliant, promote development within the community and become effective members of the society. The program aims at creating a group that would eventually manage itself as a small business. Started in 2007 with few girls, Home Adventure Voluntary and Community Development Project hired a trainer to train the group in the dressmaking and some other items that they would sell out in the market. The program has quickly picked up and will soon open to outsiders (non-targets) at subsidized fees to sustain the project. Still in its early stage, the group is soon to start making school uniforms and sell to schools and the community. These women, who previously had little or no income to support themselves and their children will be improving their lives and those of their children. The program has also given opportunity to girls who have become responsible for the care of their siblings due to the death of their parents. Volunteer and take part in the training program and help these young girls achieve their goals. Donate to sponsor a girls or a single mother who are willing to join the training. Teaching

Poultry farming
Home Adventure Voluntary and Community Development Project started a poultry farm in February 2007. The chickens provide eggs, a good nutritional meal for our children and excess eggs sold for sustainability of the project. People are excited and proud to have a poultry farm around. They can now feed their families on a better nutrition. The poultry has also created a new business for retailers who buys in wholesale and that boost their business. Quite a number of people have shown interest and have been training on poultry keeping at the center. The poultry is also used as a demonstration farm for the community. |
